John Gohorry was born Donald Smith in Coventry in 1943. He obtained an M.Phil. from University of London in 1970 for a thesis on The Sources and Style of Sir Philip Sidney’s Arcadia. He taught in Further and Higher Education for many years, the last 35 in North Hertfordshire.
He lives in Letchworth Garden City, where he is poet in residence at David’s Bookshop.
Gohorry is serious about the “exchange” in the title; clearly a man of wide-ranging enquiry and learning, he revels in exploring writers from many cultures and acknowledges their influence.
